Job Description

  • Investigate and assess potential breaches of planning regulations.
  • Prepare and issue formal notices and documentation related to enforcement actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of cases and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Conduct site visits and gather evidence to support enforcement proceedings.
  • Liaise with property owners, developers, and other relevant parties to resolve issues.
  • Provide professional advice on planning enforcement matters to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Represent the organisation at committee meetings and public inquiries, if necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and internal policies.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Planning Enforcement Officer should have:

  • Proven experience in planning enforcement or a related field within the Public Sector.
  • A solid understanding of planning legislation and enforcement procedures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess cases effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • The ability to manage a varied caseload and meet deadlines efficiently.
  • A valid driving licence and willingness to conduct site visits within the area.
