Our roles

We’re looking for talented Head of Service, Project Manager, Surveyors and Project Delivery Officers to join our Strategy, Assets and Transformation directorate. These roles are key to delivering our ambitious plans to improve the quality, safety and energy performance of our 22,000 homes across the Midlands.

You’ll support the delivery of large-scale retrofit and energy efficiency programmes, helping us meet the government’s target of achieving EPC C or above in all rental homes by 2030. As we respond to new regulations like Awaab’s Law and rising expectations around building safety and sustainability, your work will directly contribute to creating safer, warmer and more efficient homes for our customers.

This is a great opportunity to join a growing team where your skills and experience will help drive real change across communities.

Paul Baker

Director of Assets - Investment

I’m responsible for the planning and delivery of major works and capital projects, including planned maintenance and home improvements. Working alongside a brilliant team, we’re focused on making sure our customers live in safe, comfortable, and energy-efficient homes.

I joined whg with over 25 years’ experience in the housing sector, most recently as Director of Asset Management at Citizen. I now lead our long-term investment programme, which includes delivering around £200m of improvements through our strategic partnerships, supporting whg’s journey to net zero and supporting the government’s target of achieving EPC C across all rental homes by 2030.

Director of Home Maintenance Services

I’m responsible for all aspects of repairs and have a team of around 300 colleagues delivering the service. Comprising electricians, plumbers, gas engineers, carpenters, damp/mould specialists, and roofers, the team delivers responsive repairs, emergency interventions and void property refurbishments to more than 22,000 homes.

I joined whg back in 1984 as an apprentice and since then have held a number of roles in addition to frontline gas engineering.
