  • 12 month FTC for a very well known QSR/Casual dining business
  • Full food and non-food category management and accountability.

Well known and established casual dining business, looking after roughly £20m spend.

Job Description

  • Manage the procurement process for designated food categories.
  • Develop and implement category strategies to optimize costs and supplier performance.
  • Identify and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best prices and terms.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers.
  • Evaluate and onboard new suppliers to meet business needs.
  • Monitor supplier performance and address any issues promptly.
  • Negotiate contracts ensuring optimal terms, pricing, and service levels.
  • Contract management, ensuring compliance and managing renewals and amendments effectively.
  • Implement strategies to manage and reduce product inflation.
  • Explore new sourcing opportunities to maintain cost efficiency.
  • Conduct regular spend analysis to ensure budget adherence and identify areas for improvement.
  • Juggle multiple procurement projects, ensuring timely and successful completion.
  • Coordinate with development teams to align procurement activities with project timelines.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with the procurement of goods and services.
  • Develop contingency plans to manage supply chain disruptions.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on procurement activities and outcomes.
  • Develop and implement strategies to source sustainable products.
  • Ensure suppliers comply with sustainability standards.
  • Support brand and menu development by sourcing innovative products.
  • Work closely with marketing and development teams.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Category Manager should have:

  • Proven experience in procurement and category management within QSR or catering.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Ability to analyse market trends and data to make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Knowledge of supply chain processes and best practices.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on cost efficiency and value creation
