The role of Commercial Finance Lead is a hands-on role leading the strategic financial planning, commercial analysis, and business partnering of a highly diverse charity. The role will shift the organisation to forward-looking financial decision making, improved budget reliability, forecasting accuracy and outcomes across eight business units.

Job Description

Budgeting & Forecasting - Lead annual budget process, improve speed and accuracy of builds, and manage rolling quarterly re-forecasts.

Pricing & Margin Analysis - Oversee pricing models, track actual margins vs. forecasts, and implement corrective actions for variances.

Commercial Support - Provide financial challenge and risk mitigation for tenders and evaluate business cases using ROI and investment appraisal techniques.

Scenario & Financial Modelling - Develop models for revenue volatility, occupancy, productivity, margins, funding ROI, and stress testing for sustainability.

Finance Business Partnering - Drive actionable insights, support Directors across multiple business areas, and lead monthly performance reviews with senior leadership.

Insight & Reporting - Oversee management accounts, improve efficiency via ERP, develop dashboards and KPIs, and deliver timely, high-quality reporting.

ERP Leadership - Act as Finance lead for ERP rollout, eliminate manual processes, strengthen controls, and optimize system use for commercial outputs.

People Management & Culture - Build a high-performance finance team, manage recruitment, training, and HR processes, and embed a culture focused on analysis and insight.

The Successful Applicant

  • ACA/ACCA or equivalent accounting qualification
  • Extensive experience leading high performing teams
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • 'Can do' attitude
  • Experience of in depth analysis in the performance of both manufacturing organisations
