Job Description

The Interim Corporate Governance Assistant / Assistant Company Secretary will be part of a small Corporate Governance team based in Leeds and will cover a period of maternity. Typically responsibilities will include:

  • Provide administrative support to the C-Suite team on governance-related matters.
  • Ensure compliance with internal governance policies and external regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain accurate records of governance documentation.
  • Coordinate and facilitate board and committee meetings, including preparing agendas and taking minutes.
  • Support the implementation of governance frameworks and best practices.
  • Assist in monitoring and reporting on compliance with organisational policies.
  • Collaborate with various departments to promote effective governance across the organisation.
  • Provide guidance on governance matters to ensure alignment with organisational objectives.



The Successful Applicant

A successful Interim Corporate Governance Assistant / Assistant Company Secretary should have:

  • A strong understanding of governance frameworks and compliance requirements.
  • Experience within a housing association or not-for-profit environment.
  • Experience supporting meeting cycles.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools for documentation and reporting.
  • Ideally you will have CGI qualification.
  • The ability to communicate clearly and build strong working relationships.
  • Must be able to start in January 2026.
  • Must have right to work in the UK.
  • Be commutable to Leeds where this role is based.
