This Interim Finance Manager role in the Biotech industry requires a skilled professional to oversee financial operations and ensure accurate reporting, management accounts and journal posting. The position is interim for six months and offers an opportunity to make a significant impact within the Accounting & Finance department.
  • Support a local biotech company, on an interim basis for six months.
  • Hybrid working for three days in office per week, based in Oxfordshire.

Job Description

  • Manage Accounts Payable (AP) processes and supplier relationships
  • Conduct variance analysis and monitor cost tracking across the business
  • Prepare and deliver supplier summaries and reporting for management review
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting cycles, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Drive Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to support strategic decision‑making
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and ensure compliance with reporting standards
  • Post monthly journals including accruals, prepayments, and adjustments

The Successful Applicant

A successful Interim Finance Manager should have:

  • Professional qualifications in accounting or finance, such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel
  • Demonstrable background in preparing monthly management accounts
  • Background in biotech, life sciences, or related industries desirable
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively within a small finance team
