About Our Client

A leading consumer products manufacturer is seeking a New Product Operations Project Manager to oversee the end-to-end implementation of new products - ensuring they are viable, compliant, costed, tested, operationally ready and delivered on time.This role leads a team of three Project Managers and plays a key part in shaping how the organisation introduces new products across a variety of markets.

Job Description

  • Lead and develop a team of project managers, each managing their own portfolio of new product projects, providing coaching, structure, and guidance.
  • Oversee your own portfolio of high-priority, strategic projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and long-term product strategy.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally across Purchasing, New Product Development, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Logistics, and Quality, ensuring all teams are aligned, informed, and meeting project milestones.
  • Work with the Purchasing team to manage supplier timelines, material availability, cost implications, and risk, feeding insights into project planning and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with New Product, Sales, and Marketing teams to turn market insights and customer requirements into operationally viable product plans.
  • Partner with Operations and Logistics to assess production feasibility, capacity constraints, and scheduling, ensuring realistic and achievable delivery roadmaps.
  • Use complex data sets, project KPIs, and advanced technology tools to track progress, forecast risks, support decision-making, and optimize resource allocation.
  • Maintain oversight of compliance, quality, testing, and fit-for-purpose requirements, ensuring operational and regulatory standards are met for all launches.
  • Drive continuous improvement, identifying new ways of working, better processes, and smarter use of technology across projects.
  • Act as the central point for issue resolution and escalation, ensuring timely decisions by bringing the right experts together.
  • Provide clear, actionable reporting to senior stakeholders, highlighting project status, risks, interdependencies, and strategic impact.

The Successful Applicant

  • Proven experience managing a portfolio of complex, cross-functional projects from concept to delivery.
  • Strong people leadership skills, including coaching and developing a team of project managers or coordinators.
  • Experience leading strategic projects with business impact, balancing operational, commercial, and long-term objectives.
  • Skilled at coordinating specialist teams (Purchasing, Product, Operations, Sales, Marketing, Quality) to deliver aligned outcomes.
  • Comfortable working with complex data and project tools to track progress, inform decisions, and manage roadmaps.
  • Commercially aware, able to manage costs, forecasts, and trade-offs effectively.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills for senior leadership updates.
  • Experience in manufacturing, operations, or product-focused environments preferred but not essential.
  • Resilient, adaptable, and solutions-focused, able to manage competing priorities and deliver results.
