Job Description



Senior Payroller

  • Responsible for the day-to-day administration of a portfolio of small to medium-sized client payrolls, including Real Time Information (RTI) submissions and year-end processes.
  • Managing payrolls across multiple frequencies: weekly, fortnightly, monthly, quarterly, and annually, with varying levels of complexity.
  • Applying knowledge of PAYE, National Insurance Contributions (NIC), and statutory absence payments such as SMP, SAP, SPP, SHPP, SPBP, and SSP.
  • Processing employee and employer pension contributions and submitting data to pension providers for multiple types of pension schemes.
  • Handling payrolled benefits in kind (BIKs), salary sacrifice schemes, flexible benefits, and equity-related plans such as stocks, shares, and ESPP.
  • Staying up to date with payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Liaising with HMRC as needed for payroll-related matters.
  • Using initiative to resolve issues and provide support to team members where possible.



The Successful Applicant

Senior Payroller:

  • Ideally 5+ years within a professional services environment processing end to end payroll
  • Knowledge and exposure to manual processes to SMP, SPP, SSP etc.
  • Auto-enrolment knowledge of rules and regulations
  • Customer focused
  • Excellent attention to detail and proactive
  • Strong team player as well as carrying the ability to work independently
  • Happy to commute to the office 5 days per week within the first 3 months for integration, on boarding and support then 50% in the office (W. Berkshire office location!)
  • Due to office location, having access to car and ability to drive is highly preferred
