Job Description

As a Transport Planner, you will play a key role in the day-to-day coordination and optimisation of vehicle movements within a busy freight environment. Reporting to the Transport Manager, you'll ensure that all transport operations run smoothly, safely, and cost-effectively.Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and scheduling vehicle routes for collections and deliveries within strict timeframes
  • Liaising with drivers, warehouse teams, and external stakeholders to ensure efficient execution of transport plans
  • Monitoring fleet utilisation and performance, adjusting plans in real time where necessary
  • Ensuring compliance with transport legislation, health & safety, and company standards
  • Maintaining accurate records and supporting documentation within the transport management system
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency

The Successful Applicant

To be successful in this role as Transport Planner, you will demonstrate:

  • Proven experience in transport planning, ideally within a freight, logistics, or air cargo environment
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Sound understanding of transport compliance, driver regulations, and route planning systems
  • Proficiency in MS Office and transport management software (TMS)
  • Flexibility to work shifts or weekends as required in a 24/7 operation
