Job Description

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a range of commercial agreements, including JCT contracts, confidentiality agreements, and procurement documentation. Prepare bespoke contractual documents as required.
  • Lead insurance renewals, manage claims and due diligence, and implement effective risk management practices. Coordinate early claim notifications and support tax-related submissions to ensure compliance and maximise benefits.
  • Monitor legislative changes and integrate them into internal policies and procedures.
  • Manage intellectual property matters, including trademarks, copyright licences, and external licensing arrangements. Liaise with legal specialists to ensure compliance and internal understanding.
  • Provide legal support on project delivery, dispute resolution, and debt recovery.
  • Advise on commercial aspects of project execution and fee strategies. Attend leadership meetings to offer strategic legal input and support documentation for proposals and claims.
  • Oversee property leases and service contracts related to office operations.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Legal Counsel should have:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in legal roles, ideally within project-based or consultancy environments.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial law and professional services contracts.
  • Excellent communication skills with the confidence to advise stakeholders at all levels.
  • Detail-oriented, pragmatic, and solutions-focused.
  • Collaborative and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently.
