About Our Client

My client is an established and growing Crypto company, who is looking for an Operational Risk Management Lead - Crypto (m/f/d).

Conduct ongoing risk assessments to spot potential vulnerabilities.
Maintain a detailed risk register documenting risks, impacts, and mitigation plans.
Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of a risk management framework aligned with company goals and regulations.
Address all key risk categories: market, credit, operational, compliance, and cybersecurity.
Develop and enforce controls to manage identified risks.
Work closely with other teams to integrate risk practices into daily operations.
Monitor risk management effectiveness and recommend improvements.
Ensure full compliance with BaFin and relevant EU financial regulations.
Stay updated on regulatory changes and assess their impact on the company's risk profile.
Support creation and maintenance of business continuity and crisis response plans.
Organize drills and simulations to prepare for operational disruptions.
Prepare and present regular risk reports according to internal policies and standards.
Lead and develop the risk management team, promoting a strong culture of risk awareness.
Provide training and resources to build team capability.

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Risk Management, Business Administration, or related discipline; advanced degree or certifications (e.g., FRM, PRM, CFA) highly desirable.
Minimum five years of risk management experience in financial services / TradFi, ideally with some expertise in the digital assets field. Focus lies clearly on operational risk instead of enterprise risk.
Solid knowledge of German and EU financial regulations, especially regarding digital assets.
Proficient with risk assessment methodologies and tools.
Business enabler, mentality - someone who will not just say what doesn't work but how to make it work.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Effective communication and stakeholder management skills at all organizational levels.
Capable of working independently and within dynamic teams.
Excellent organizational and project management skills.
Fluency in German and English, written and spoken.
