Job Description

  • Sales Growth & Customer Development
  • Drive sales performance across existing and new customers, focusing on margin growth and sustainable revenue.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities across wholesale, retail, and independent trade sectors
  • Utilise established industry relationships to open new trading channels and strengthen our market presence.
  • Maintain regular contact with key customers through face-to-face meetings, calls, and trade events.
  • Deliver strong customer service and long-term partnerships based on reliability, trust, and value.
  • Identify and mitigate commercial risks while pursuing growth opportunities.
  • Experience managing profit and loss (P&L) and driving margin improvement.
  • Contribute to marketing and promotional planning to support category sales initiatives.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Sales Manager should have:

  • Proven experience in a trading, business development, or commercial sales management role within the FMCG / wholesale / grocery sector.
  • Strong record of sales growth and GP generation
  • Excellent commercial negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Well-connected within the industry, with a network of relevant contacts.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to manage margin performance and P&L impact.
  • Can work collaboratively with Finance, Operations, and Logistics to ensure smooth execution of all trading activity.
  • Confident communicator, able to influence and build trust at all levels.
